With the weather having finally warmed up and the Boks making us proud in New Zealand, we at WINE.CO.ZA thought you might enjoy a few braai tips for game days.
Wines of South Africa have brought out a book that is available free online at www.wosa.co.za. The book lists recipes from over 20 wine estates including Creation Wines, Blaauwklippen, Cederberg Private Cellar, Kanonkop Estate, Durbanville Hills, Obikwa, Excelsior Estate, KWV Wines, Boplaas Family Vineyards, M'hudi Wines, Paul Cluver Wines, Onderkloof Vines and Wines, Spier, De Wetshof Estate, Cloof, Arniston Bay, Rietvallei Wine Estate, Bellingham, Van Loveren Private Cellar, La Motte and Boekenhoutskloof.

The introduction to the book explains the tradition of braaiing in South Africa and states that South Africans have enjoyed a long history of cooking over open fires. It further continues to explain what, how, when and where to braai. The book also lists tips on the basics of preparing for your braai, such as preparing the grid, making the fire, testing the heat, dealing with flare ups and also includes a list of braai essentials.

The recipes are very interesting and cover a broad range of meats, salads and even some desserts.
