Tulbagh Winery has garnered no less than 19 awards for its wines this year with a shower of medals attesting to its quality offerings.

Quality begins in the vineyards, continues in the cellar with a dedicated winemaking team led by new wine maker, Naudé Bruwer, and ends with interesting new wines of excellent quality, creatively labelled and marketed by the new marketing team appointed in 2009.

Consumer-friendly, innovative wines such as the newly released, red sparkling Pinotage Doux and the Sauvignon, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, evidence this innovation. Naudé’s Limited Release Klein Tulbagh Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, both of them single vineyard wines, and the wine maker’s first reserve vintage, are further proof of this new, focused approach.

This has resulted in awards being showered on them. The Tulbagh Winery Pinotage Doux has won a silver medal at the Michelangelo International Wine Awards, silver again at Veritas and bronze at the 2011 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show.

The Tulbagh Winery Rosé has scored 20 out of 20 points for a second consecutive year at the Best Value Wine Awards in Wine Magazine, silver at Veritas and bronze at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show. The new Klein Tulbagh Shiraz scored a hat trick of silver medals at Michelangelo, the International Wine and Spirits Competition and at Veritas, while the Tulbagh Winery Cabernet Sauvignon received a silver medal at Veritas.
