Raka Quinary is JHB's favourite
12 June 2012  by Raka Wines
Raka Quinary is the favorite red wine of the wine loving people of Johannesburg to drive away the winter cold and that is official.
On Friday 1st of June, the night before the annual Oyster Festival at the Bright Water Commons, Raka Quinary was voted Jo'Burgs Choice and awarded Best Red Wine of the Oyster Festival.

At an event organized by the Vats Wine Club and Judith Lee of Volume Promotions teams of two to three tasters prawled the alleys between the wine stands, scoring the various wines put forward by the wineries as their best. The teams were made up of somelliers, restaurateurs, journalists, wine-buyers and knowledgeble members of various tasting clubs. Raka Quinary 2007 came out tops!

No wonder then that all stock of Quinary on the Raka stand was sold out on Saturday afternoon: "To be voted best red wine once, may be a fluke. To be voted best red wine two years in a row must mean that Raka really is a favourite amongst many winelovers", said Raka's owner Piet Dreyer. Raka Biography Shiraz was voted best red wine of the Oyster Festival last year.
