Celebrate the Bastille Day Festival 2012 in Franschhoek on the 14 and 15 July. Locals and visitors to the valley will be celebrating centuries-old French Huguenot heritage at its annual Bastille Festival.

So don your red, white and blue regalia and come and indulge in a feast of delectable food, the finest wines and all the fun that is on through the festival. Plaisir de Merle, with its roots set deep in French Huguenot history dating back to 1693, will once again be offering some of its finest wines to taste or buy from their stand in Franschhoek.
These wines will be specially priced to attract for the festival period only. So visit the stand and tantalise your taste buds when you purchase a box of fudge and experiment pairing the flavours of orange, rum and vanilla, chilli and lime and cherry with some red wines – and make your own perfect match.
Stop off at the Plaisir de Merle on the R45 on your way to Franschhoek or on your way home – the luxury tasting centre will be open to visitors and wines will be available at the special Bastille Day rates. Feast packs will be on sale for R60 per pack which will include Ciabata, two cheeses, condiments and nougat.
So come and enjoy the fun at Bastille Day 2012 and bring your family, friends and even your dogs and relax and have fun in the magnificent gardens at Plaisir de Merle.
