Kleine Zalze moves entire portfolio to Hatch Mansfield

Kleine Zalze from Stellenbosch South Africa announced today that it is consolidating its UK sales and marketing operations by moving its entire portfolio of wines to Hatch Mansfield.
Until now representation of the Kleine Zalze portfolio has been split between Steven's Garnier, which has taken responsibility for the off-trade with the Zalze and Foot of Africa ranges, and Hatch Mansfield which has taken charge of the on-trade via Matthew Clark with the Kleine Zalze branded wines.

Kleine Zalze's co-owner and Managing Director Kobus Basson said that the strategic decision to appoint Hatch Mansfield as its sole agency in the UK has been taken in order to align the producer's UK sales and marketing activities. "Stevens Garnier has done an exemplary job for us in the UK off-trade market and to be leaving them has certainly not been an easy decision. However, we feel we now need single representation for our business in the UK.

Our experience of working with Hatch Mansfield in the on-trade, coupled with their reach into independent retailers and multi-channel approach, was a key consideration in making this important strategic move. This has been reinforced by Hatch Mansfield being named 'Best Supplier to Independents' at the Harpers Awards 2012 announced in May."

Hatch Mansfield's Managing Director Patrick McGrath MW added "We are delighted to have been chosen as the complete partner of Kleine Zalze in the UK market, making us a destination company for South African wines. Our team is extremely enthusiastic about working with Kleine Zalze which joins our strong portfolio of leading premium wine producers from around the world."

The move will take immediate effect and stock will be available in the UK for the independent sector from 1st September 2012.
