Bon Courage Estate releases their Jacques Bruére Cuvée Brut Rosé 2006

Bon Courage, the award-winning Robertson estate owned by the Bruwer family, have launched their first pink Cap Classique, the Jacques Bruére Cuvée Brut Rosé 2006, an elegant blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay beautifully packaged in shimmering pink and silver.
At the same time the 2008 vintages of the Jacques Bruére Brut Reserve and Jacques Bruére Blanc de Blancs Cap Classiques have been released in stylish new packaging. Bon Courage’s Jacques Bruére Cap Classiques are so named to honour the Bruwer family’s French Huguenot lineage, the Bruéres, who hailed from the Loire Valley.
Bon Courage Jacques Bruére Cuvée Brut Rosé 2006, a classic blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, has a delicate salmon pink hue and a fine creamy mousse. Enticing aromas of raspberry and lemon with hints of toasted brioche lead onto a rich and expansive palate with fresh, generous, berry flavours and a silky richness followed by a long elegant finish.
Two hours of skin contact during pressing gave this refreshing Brut Rosé its beautiful colour and 8 months lees contact provided the perfect balance between fruitiness and complexity. 10% barrel fermentation added further complexity and toasty notes to the wine. The wine was then bottled and laid down for 48 months. After the second fermentation the wine was riddled by hand (rémuage) in wooden riddling racks (pupitres) for a period of 3 weeks. It was then disgorged and a dosage was added as the ideal finishing touch to balance the sugar and acidity. The wine spent nine months on the cork before release.
Delicious on its own and with oysters, the Bon Courage Jacques Bruére Cuvée Brut Rosé 2006 complements a wide array of foods. Try it with grilled salmon, tuna or prosciutto, all of which complement both the colour and flavour of the Brut Rosé, or with sushi and Asian dishes. It will also pair very well with creamy cheeses like Brie and is an extraordinary match for red fruit desserts.
Bon Courage Jacques Bruére Brut Reserve 2008, a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir forms the backbone of the Cap Classique and the Chardonnay lends finesse to the blend. It is a fruit- driven, beautifully poised Cap Classique, a rich wine with a lively mousse and a nose displaying lemon, toast and honey notes. On the palate there are broad toasted nutty characters infused with stone fruits and richly textured creamy biscuit flavours. It is crisp, clean and refreshing with a lingering finish. A wine for all occasions!

Bon Courage Jacques Bruére Blanc de Blancs 2008, produced from 100% Chardonnay, shows lovely fruit with hints of lime, a full yeasty biscuit nose, a creamy complexity on the palate, following through to a delicious lingering fullness, finishing with finesse. It is best served as an aperitif or with oysters and is an ideal partner to a plateau de fruits de mer (seafood platter) served with lemon or garlic butter.

Neatly tucked between the Breede River and Langeberg mountain range, lies Bon Courage Wine Estate, where visitors can enjoy winetasting in the historic manor house and relax at Café Maude restaurant and coffe shop.
Bon Courage is very much about family. Father André is the viticulturist, Jacques focuses on vinification, younger son Pieter has an accounting degree, and looks after the financial side of the farm and daughter Maude runs Café Maude.
