Swedish House Mafia Cape Town show to move to new venue
17 January 2013  by Lourensford Wine Estate
The Cape Town show of Swedish House Mafia’s One Last Tour, originally scheduled to take place on Lourensford Wine Estate on Sunday, 27th January 2013, is moving venues due to the ongoing farmworkers’ strikes in the region.
Colonel MA Williams, Station Commander at Somerset West SAPS, released the following statement: “Due to the uncertainties surrounding the ongoing farmworkers’ strikes in the area, it was deemed a safety risk to hold a public event of this scale on the farm whilst the strikes in the area have not yet been resolved.”

The new venue that the organisers managed to secure at this late stage, is the polo field at the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch, located next to the N7 on the way to Malmesbury. The date and time of the show remains unchanged.

“We realize that this is a massive change so close to the show dates, but on the plus side, the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch has easier access for cars entering and leaving the venue, and is closer to Cape Town so will mean less traveling time for party-goers,” said Shaun Duvet from Electric. “The production will remain as was originally planned for Lourensford, and is guaranteed to transform the venue into a world-class stage, fit for the Swedish House Mafia. As soon as the Somerset West SAPS deemed it a safety risk there was no choice for us but to find an alternate venue. No event is worth risking people’s safety for.”

Note that ticket holders do NOT need to change their tickets. All existing tickets purchased for Lourensford will still be valid, however if any ticket holders are unhappy about the venue change, Computicket will be offering full refunds. Please visit www.computicket.co.za for more information
