During the month of February, each week Wine.co.za will be focusing on a beautiful wedding venue.

Wine.co.za met with Sue Rowe from Slaley to talk weddings, food and wine pairing and catering to the Bride.
Slaley have been doing weddings for the past year and it is a practice that is constantly evolving. From small and rustic to loud and proud, there is no one genre of wedding that they cater for but rather, they can lend their hand to anything.

“It’s been a learning curve for us and with each wedding we have done, there has been new changes made to what we offer.” Says Sue.

From the ceremony to the reception, Slaley has space to accommodate any theme with the maximum capacity being 140 people.

“We now offer an exclusive package for R500 per person that includes a 3 course meal, sound, lighting, table cloths and basic décor. That also covers the venue hire.” Says Sue.

The farm itself has beautiful views of the winelands and with its lush vineyards and olive groves, it offers picturesque spots for wedding photos. For an intimate feel, the cellar is available, a perfect spot for a Winter wedding.

For accommodation needs, Sue delightfully tells us about their guest house, “it’s a stunning spot with space for both the Groom and the Bride to get ready without seeing each other before the ceremony.

And speaking of the Groom, for those who are into motorbikes and the fast-paced things in life, every last Sunday of every month Slaley hosts the Funduro. A course for riders that will test their agility. Bring your bike along and get stuck in! For more in, click here
