Gravel Junction Wine & Spirit Co.
It is a personal welcome to all of you with the advent of the online side of our business, and needless to say that it has taken a while to get to this point, the good news is in 2012 it is all about change. Talking of change there has been a lot of that happening already and the aim of the Mt Vernon Chronicles is about sharing Mt Vernon with you, it is what we do best! Take advantage of this months killer offer delivered to your house free of charge.
Who would have thought a few years ago, from mixing the best Stanger Champagne, on the North Coast of Natal I would be, selling and marketing some of the best wines this country has to offer. Even I can’t believe the transformation! Our wine farm, Mt Vernon, is in the Cape, in fact Klapmuts to be more specific, so a move from Natal some 15 years ago to being awarded with the 2010 Michelangelo Garagiste Trophy for the best small winery in South Africa was a change not even the Myans could have predicted. Hats off to Mum and her team in putting Mt Vernon on the map!

In general the business has been through a transformation over the past year, with the revamp of the wine cellar, the addition of an extra barrel store, tasting room and fancy offices, a must see for any person visiting the Cape. Furthermore just in case you thought that was it, we have built a massive warehouse for the storage of our finished goods and added a little B&B for those romantic getaways in the Winelands. It is looking like the Gobi Desert outside our offices while the new trees and grass take root but the hard work has been done and the whole place has taken a change for the better.

The 2012 harvest went well and I am sure that together with our brand new wine cellar, we can expect to see another award winning vintage in 2012 , more about this later. Lastly with the launch of this newsletter is the launch of our Online Store which catapults us into Cyberspace and the unknown, so thank goodness for our friendly propeller heads otherwise we would be lost. It is another exciting chapter in our short life cycle but more so it marks the need to adapt to change when it comes to making Mt Vernon special in peoples lives. Keep a look out because this one is for you!

All in all it a journey, we are only just starting and we would like you our family and friends to join us so lets stay in touch

Cheers to Change
