The Wine Show visitors

Two top venues for The Wine Show in 2013
- by -
The Wine Show launched in Johannesburg in 2006 with the aim of positioning local wine producers in front of a large consumer market and to allow for sales directly to visitors.

Eight years on and The Wine Show has become a firm favourite on the Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth calendars for both wine-lovers and producers alike. In 2013, The Wine Show in association with Dawn Wing will be moving to two new venues – the Sandton Convention Centre (3 – 5 May) in the heart of Johannesburg and the brand new Boardwalk Convention Centre (28 – 30 June) in Port Elizabeth.

The event’s tried-and-tested formula of edutainment through free Wine Theatre sessions, colourful stands and mouth-watering food has made it SA’s leading wine show platform with the highest level of sales and a 19% year-on-year growth. Across the 2012 Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth Shows, an average of 87% of visitors purchased wine at the event.

“The popular format of The Wine Show demands superior venues, and both the Sandton and Boardwalk Convention Centres fit this brief perfectly. These two new venues bring with them likely increases in footfall – an exciting prospect for producers, many of whom are joining us for the first time,” says John Woodward, Director of The Wine Show.
