We'll see you at The Table Bay Hotel on Wednesday evening, 30th October 2013. There, you will be able to taste the finest white wines and Cap Classiques produced in South Africa.
All the winemakers themselves will be at their exhibition table, to show
you their wine personally - and each will bring one wine only. That
wine will be the very best in their cellar at present, which has been
chosen by the following criteria: it had to have achieved 5 stars, or
have been "highly recommended" in the Platter Guide 2013 (ie nominated for 5 stars).
Over and above that, the wines had to have many more accolades such as
Trophies at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show; Double-Gold medals at
Michelangelo and Veritas locally, and internationally; scored 91+/100 in
International Competitions and more. Those that got the most of those
accolades, represent the Creme-de-la-Creme of this year.
The Caroline's team did play a role, in selecting a few small producers
who do not enter competitions, but which produce outstanding wines.
There will be ten MCC's this year, and some of the names to look our for
in the still wines are: AA Badenhorst, Malagas, Quoin Rock, Rall, Cape
Point, Ghost Corner, Meerlust, Boekenhoutskloof, La Motte, Nitida - just
a few mentioned to whet your appetite.
The cost is R150 p/p which includes an uncrested crystal glass and programme and tickets can be purchased through Computicket only. A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door.
