Stellenbosch Wine Routes
Feeling exhausted and jaded this time of year?

Make your way to Kaapzicht wine estate, when the gracious Steytler family serves up the perfect pick-me-up antidote – the last but definitely not least Bottelary Hills ‘Pop Up’ Winemakers Lunch for 2013 – on Sunday, 24 November.

Fuelled with seasonal gourmet indulgences prepared by veteran chef and master saucier, Etienne Bonthuys, combined with a stellar selection of wines unique to this prime winegrowing area, this Winelands lunch offers a soul-quenching excuse to catch your breath amidst the end-of-year frenzy.

The Bottelary Hills Winemakers Lunches are extremely popular due to their intimate, unpretentious nature and joining Kaapzicht’s gorgeous couple, Danie (Junior) and Carin Steytler, at the jovial table will be fellow Bottelary Hills estates – Goede Hoop, Groenland, Hartenberg, Mooiplaas and Villiera – for like-minded guests to immerse themselves in their passions and pleasures.

Chef Etienne, who has a myriad of award-winning local and international restaurants and a wealth of experience under his culinary belt, will conjure up a four-course feast, to match the spirit of summer and the chosen wines. Guests will also have the rare opportunity to purchase an exclusive Bottelary Hills wine selection box on the day – the perfect Christmas gift!

Nestled north-west of Stellenbosch, the Bottelary Hills Wine Route – a sub-route of the Stellenbosch American Express® Wine Routes – reveals an untapped world of quality wine to both discerning wine drinkers and those who appreciate Cape heritage. Steeped in history, this ‘hidden’ wine route is home to some of the oldest wine farms in the country and most of them have been family-owned for many generations. This rich sense of history, commitment and family radiates in both the wines and the welcoming atmosphere of this area.

The Bottelary Hills Winemakers Lunch at Kaapzicht costs R275 per person which includes a wine tasting, the four course meal, and a glass of wine per course. The lunch starts at 12h00 and to book your seats contact Tel: (021) 886 8275 or send an email to marketing@wineroute.co.za. Pre-bookings are essential as seating is limited.

Kaapzicht is situated on the M23 Bottelary Road off the R304 to Stellenbosch. For more information on this Bottelary Hills stalwart visit www.kaapzicht.co.za.
