Bouchard Finlayson
Following sold-out events in 2013, Bouchard Finlayson will once again host a series of Tutored Wine Tastings in Cape Town and Johannesburg this year. Open to the public, the tastings will be held in small groups and are meant to be fun and informal, attracting wine novices and connoisseurs alike. They will be hosted by none other than Peter Finlays

The tastings are limited to 20 guests, which, says Finlayson, ‘allows wine fans to savour a delicious glass of wine while finding out more about its provenance and character, all in a relaxed setting without any elitist notions. Whether you are a wine expert or a wine enthusiast who simply enjoys a good glass of wine, we encourage everyone to join us!’

The first Tutored Tasting of the year will take place at new culinary hot spot Mondiall at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on Wednesday 2 April and will focus on Bouchard Finlayson highlights over the years. Peter Finlayson will showcase four flights of three wines, including the Bouchard Finlayson Blanc de Mer blend; Walker Bay Sauvignon Blanc; Kaaimansgat, Missionvale and Sans Barrique Chardonnays; and iconic Tête de Cuvée Galpin Peak Pinot noir. Johannesburg-based wine fans will be able to catch the same tasting a few days later, on Tuesday 8 April, at Coobs restaurant in Parkhurst.

This will be followed by another Tutored Tasting in Cape Town on Thursday 26 June, this time with a focus on Bouchard Finlayson Pinot noir highlights over the years, including the award-winning Galpin Peak and Tête de Cuvée vintages. Bouchard Finlayson’s unique Hannibal blend will then take centre stage on Wednesday 13 August in Cape Town and on Tuesday 26 August in Johannesburg, when Peter Finlayson presents a Hannibal Vertical Tutored Tasting.

The Tutored Tasting season will conclude in Cape Town on Wednesday 12 November, with Finlayson offering a sneak preview of Bouchard Finlayson pre-releases, including comparisons to previous years. The perfect opportunity to catch an early glimpse of what’s to come!
