Perdeberg Winery have out done themselves at this year’s Paarl Young Wine Show by receiving 6 gold medals as well as three Champion wins.

Champion wins:
Sauvignon Blanc 2014
Nouvelle 2014
Shiraz 2014

Perdeberg’s Cellar Master, Albertus Louw said: “I believe our achievements result from the marriage of focused hard work, innovation and the composition of our vineyards- most of our vineyards rely entirely upon nature herself to survive as three-quarters of the vineyards are un-irrigated dry land with no water access and half are un-trellised.”

Perdeberg Winery did a sterling job at the National Young Wine Awards with 2 Class Winners, 4 gold, 15 silver and 15 bronze medals.

The South African Young Wine Show dates back to 1833 when the Cape of Good Hope Agricultural Society presented the first wine show in South Africa, and this, rather ironically, makes the SA Young Wine Show the oldest wine competition in South Africa.

Perdeberg Winery was established in 1941.

Perdeberg Winery’s vineyards span over 2300 ha covering the areas of Paarl, Malmesbury, Wellington and Agter Paarl. Of these 2070+ ha, 75% are unirrigated and 50% are untrellised explaining the very low yields from vineyards of the winery. These dry land bush vines create far better fruit concentration than vines subjected to artificial vineyard practises and ensure greater wine quality for the end product.

Perdeberg has a wide range of wines that are available at all major outlets or directly from the cellar (08h00 - 17h00 weekdays; 09h30 - 14h00 Saturdays). Vryguns Farm | Windmeul | Paarl |Tel: +27 (21) 869 8244 / 8112
