Waverley Hills won one of the three platinum medals awarded at this year’s Michelangelo Awards for their organically certified SMV (Shiraz Mourvedre Viognier) 2010. It’s the first time in the history of the competition that an organic wine has been awarded a platinum medal. No other organic wine has achieved higher than a gold medal.

To achieve a platinum award the wine must score at least 98 points out of 100. Waverley Hills SMV 2010 was the only red wine to achieve a platinum medal, making it the best red wine (and Rhône blend) entered at this year’s competition.

Waverley Hills is also very proud of their MCC 2011 winning a gold award and to top it all off they won Best Organic Trophy.

Waverley Hills comments “We are ecstatic with our awards and thrilled we get to highlight that organic wines can age well and compete against conventional wines at the highest level.”
