De Krans
The results of the RECM Best Value Tasting of niche cultivars held in Cape Town at the end of November produced a very interesting result. Confirming that Portuguese cultivars perform best, De Krans Wine Cellar in Calitzdorp clinched three spots of the top six wines reviewed at this tasting.

These were awarded to the De Krans Tempranillo 2012 (scoring an average of 15.8 out of 20), De Krans Tinta Roriz 2013 (scoring an average of 15.6 out of 20) and the Tinta Barocca 2012 (scoring an average of 15.1 out of 20).

The RECM Tastings are sponsored by Regarding Capital Management, an independent asset management company. The weekly tastings are hosted by well-known wine critic Neil Pendock at the Pendock Wine Gallery and led by Winnie Bowman, chair of the Institute of Cape Wine Masters.
