Make your way to these charming villages at the
foot of the Kasteelberg for the annual Riebeek
Valley Olive Festival on the 2nd and 3rd of May (10am
to 5pm daily). A past winner of the West Coast Tourism Award in the “Tourism
Event “ category and a nominee for “Crowd Pleaser” in the Klink Awards. Voted
in 2013 as Woolworths Taste Magazines “The Unforgettable Festival” by its
readers.
The Olive Emporium located in the center of Riebeek
Kasteel, will play host to local South African Olive producers with a wide
array of produce to sample and to purchase - a feast of olives, all under one
roof. The well-known Riebeek Valley wines from the local cellars, artisanal
beers, an abundance of good local food and live entertainment will be available
at the Emporium throughout the weekend.
From the centralised Olive Emporium make your way
on one of the free shuttles and tractor trips to the other participating venues
were a wide array of olive produce, olive body products, entertainment, food
and good old fashioned and down to earth, Riebeek hospitality awaits you throughout
the weekend
An Olive Passport, valid for
the entire weekend, will give you access to the participating wine farms, the
Olive Emporium and the Olive Boutique. Purchase your passport, at a cost of R70 per person, online via www.webtickets.co.za or on the day at any
of the participating venues, including the Olive Emporium. Tasting glasses and
tasting coupons will be available to purchase throughout the weekend at these
participating venues.
