wine.co.za will be 20 years old in 2016, and founder Kevin Kidson is handing over the reins.

In a family run business it is always great when you can keep it in the family for the next generation.

Our daughter Leila took a year off last year traveling abroad, and started university at Grahamstown this year majoring in Journalism. What with the #rhodesmustfall movement and us needing to move on, we have decided it is time for Leila to leave her studies and take over the company.

She has great energy, is keen on wine and marketing and will certainly take the company to new heights.

When asked about her youth, Kevin responded "Leila has an old soul and I have no doubt that her indefatigable nature will stand her and the team in good stead.  I am finishing off at the end of this year and wish Leila and the wine.co.za team all the best. I will poke my nose in now and again but it really is up to her to take it to the next level. We have just had our best month of sales ever, and I have no regrets regarding my decision!"

On hearing the news Leila stated "I am incredibly excited to start expanding the business and await the possibility of my younger brother Miles joining the team too!"
