Following the outstanding and successful re-branding of the main Perdeberg wines range almost a year ago, the winery continues to ring the changes.
It has now created an impressive and large new barrel cellar to house around 1 200 barrels. This maturation facility will extend the natural quality supply of Perdeberg’s grapes into a value added segment of the market: barrel fermented wines. This move represents a strategic investment by Perdeberg Group in the winery’s positioning.

The red wines spend around 18 months in barrel and the whites around 10 months. The oak barrels being used are mainly from France and of the 850 currently in use in the new cellar, 25% of them are new barrels.

Perdeberg Group CEO, Gerhard van der Watt says: “Perdeberg has an excellent pedigree which dates back to 1941. Over the years, we have invested in technology, people and brands. And now, our latest venture is an investment in a large barrel maturation facility giving us access to a new value-added market sector.”

Perdeberg Group is a growing and innovative organization that has successfully positioned itself as a premium producer and supplier of scale.
