Raka Wines
Time flies, and it flies at a speed! It is hard to believe that the four days of fun, food and wine which is the Johannesburg Good Food and Wine Show, is upun us again.
Last year was a delight for brides-to-be and cake crafters with an exhibition of wedding cakes ranging from beautiful white, lacey three layered classic wedding cakes to innovative African inspired tribal wedding cakes, the latest trends in wedding cake and cake design and everything in-between. Apart from the wedding and event cakes there was a life sized rhino built from sponge cakes and decorated on site, only to be cut into pieces and sold. In its place, the next day saw a sponge cake 2 seater sports car taking shape under a layer of black icing. Then it disappeared on paper plates into the crowd piece by piece.

2013 saw a stampede of visitors trying to get to the Nestle stand where the new Nescafe flavours and packaging were introduced. Visitors got their favourite coffee served for free in a free red Nescafe mug. Wow! That makes one wonder what the organisers and exhibitors are going to come up with this year.

This show is the place where new and exciting products are showcased and introduced to the public. Visitors do not only come to see what is new and amazing, but also for their favourites that they know to be there every year, like the food theatres and of course the many wine stalls.

RAKA has established itself as a firm favourite at the event and had a sold-out show last year. Although RAKA will increase its sales stock this year, visitors are warned not to wait until the last moment to make their purchases at the RAKA stand (21A). Apart from the ever popular RAKA Sauvignon Blanc, Spliced and Quinary, Gauteng tasters will be spoiled by the RAKA Petit Verdot that will be for tasting for the first time at the Good Food and Wine Show.

The RAKA Quinary will also be for sale in a magnum format, and the RAKA Luxus Collection (a gift box containing Quinary and all five its components in single variety ) will be for sale as well. Wine is the one Christmas gift that is always welcome and can be bought ahead of time and kept for the big day. It will only improve - just do not be tempted to drink it yourself.

The Good Food and Wine Show is on at the Coca Cola Dome from Thursday 23rd July to Saturday 25th July from 10am to 8pm and Sunday 26th July from 10am to 6pm. You will find Raka Wines at stand 21A. Do pay us a visit, but be early. Time flies. At the Good Food and Wine Show, wine also Flies.
