The race which takes place this year on Saturday, 1 August will start and end off at a new venue, Anura Vineyards between Stellenbosch and Paarl, which immediately changes the routes participants have to follow. However the core of the event is the same with teams of four pitting their skills against a range of weird and wonderful tasks dreamed up by the participating wineries. Some tasks are physically taxing, others push the grey matter to the extreme, but every task involves tasting wonderful wine, laughing a lot and all in stunning Winelands scenery. There are still spots available for teams to enter and the day is perfect for a corporate or team-building exercise. Or get a group of friends together and compete informally against each other. The entry fee is R1800 per team (R450 pp), which includes morning coffee and a briefing session, the team kits, all the tastings and entertainment for the day, prizes and the prize-giving dinner. Two charities will benefit from the event, The Sunflower Fund and Pets as Therapy.
