Pongrácz
Raise your flute to Pongrácz, South Africa’s leading Méthode Cap Classique celebrating 25 years of bold pioneering prowess, at the Franschhoek Bubbly Festival from Saturday, 5 to Sunday, 6 December on the lawns of the iconic Huguenot Monument.

Come in your finest “black and white with a touch of bling”, the official festival dress code, and indulge in all three classic Pongrácz Cap Classiques, the ultra-elegant signature grande cuvée, Desiderius, the Brut and the blushing Rosé. These bold trailblazers of Méthode Cap Classique will be showcased alongside their MCC counterparts from nearby cellars as well as French champagne.

Pongrácz, made in the classic French tradition, but proudly on South African soil, was launched in 1990 in honour of the pioneering spirit and life’s work of viticulturist Desiderius Pongrácz.

Pongrácz Brut is a timeless Cap Classique that has a perfect balance of crisp acidity and fragrant green apples, finished off with subtle brioche. Pongrácz Rosé is delicately balanced between acidity and red berry notes, finished off with soft yeasty tones, complemented by a beautiful salmon hue.

With its elegantly designed fluted bottle, the signature cuvée, Desiderius, encapsulates grace and exceptional character. Crafted from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it is alluring with a rich complexity, nuances of deciduous fruit, almonds and freshly baked bread that delight all the senses.
