Experience the essence of the captivating Paarl Wine Route during the annual Proe Paarl Festival taking place at the landmark Taal Monument on Saturday and Sunday (28-29 November).

Sample some of the region’s award-winning wines with gourmet foods and scintillating live performances. Participating wineries include Avondale Wines, Black Pearl Wines, Boland Kelder, Druk My Niet, Fairview Wines, Juno Wines, Landskroon Wines, Mellasat, Olsen Wines, Painted Wolf Wines, Perdeberg Kelder, Rhebokskloof, Windmeul Kelder and Zandwijk – Kleine Draken. Gourmet treats will be served by Mellasat Pop-Up Restaurant, Juno Bistro & Bakery, Fairview Cheese, Cascade Olives & Olive Oil, Folker’s Charcuterie, Richard Bosman Chacuterie, Volksmond Coffee Shop and Terra Mare Restaurant.The entertainment line-up includes Adagio, Bootleggers, Peter Van, Andrè & The Swingers as well as Newton.

Paarl has become renowned for the region`s world-class wines and authentic tourism experiences. This unique Boland town is the third oldest in the country and entices visitors with its perfect combination of cultural heritage and modern innovation.

Proe Paarl combines food and wine with arts, culture and music. Relax under the shady trees on the rolling lawns with a glass of wine paired with some gourmet food offerings such fresh oysters and bubbly, breakfast sliders, Mediterranean pastries, chocolate brownies, cheese and charcuterie platters, bread baskets, local delicacies such as biltong and droëwors, sushi and olive platters.

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the spectacular scenic beauty of the adjacent Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve and the magnificent views from the top of Paarl Rock during a mountain bike ride and trail run event. The Ride the Vines MTB race offers distances of 10km and 36km starting from 08h00 on Saturday at the Taal Monument. On Sunday, the Run the Vines trail run will takes runners on a 5km leisure route suitable for families or a more challenging 10km route through indigenous fynbos, which will snake through the iconic national monument towards the finish.

Tastings and stand open from 11h00. Tickets are available from Computicket at R120 per adult, while children under 18 enter for free.
