Unprecedented Five Michelangelo Gold Medals for Zevenwacht

The 19th Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards were announced on Friday, 18 September and a wholly thrilled Jacques Viljoen, Zevenwacht Winemaker received no less than 5 Gold Medals for Zevenwacht.

The Michelangelo is the only competition in South Africa with an exclusive international panel of judges and is regarded as SA’s top wine contest.

Zevenwacht were honoured to receive five prestigious Gold Medals for these wines:

Zevenwacht Z Collection Reserve 2012
Zevenwacht Merlot 2012
The Tin Mine White 2014
Zevenwacht Sauvignon Blanc 2015
Zevenwacht Chardonnay 2014

Jacques proudly shared this achievement with his cellar team and assistant winemaker, Charles Lourens and stated that they are a team with “one vision and one mission — to produce outstanding wines that surpass expectation.”
