Stellenbosch Vineyards adds to its collection of awards and achievements, demonstrating consistent excellence as a selection of local and international wine awards were announced in recent days.

Crowning the success of the Stellenbosch-based producer and exporter was its recent victory at the 2016 SAA Wine Awards with four premium wine listings on the national carrier, which includes Welmoed Chenin Blanc 2015, Welmoed Pinotage 2014, Welmoed Merlot 2014 and Infiniti Brut MCC 2008.

Celebrating its 30th year of offering the best locally produced wines to travelers of the South African skies, the stringent selection process for the SAA Wine Awards saw more than 730 wines submitted. “Having four of our wines selected by a panel of experts for the SAA wine list is a great achievement for the Stellenbosch Vineyards team. It was a big honour to see our Infiniti Brut Méthode Cap Classique selected as it is a very competitive category in the wine industry,” comments winemaking duo Abraham de Villiers and Bernard Claassen.

The achievement follows hot on the heels of the recent tender garnered with import and distribution partner VCT Finland for the award-winning Credo wines, namely a Pinotage Reserve. Fulfilling the demand for an ultra-premium South African wine in Finland, the crowned Credo wines is the start of a winning partnership between Stellenbosch Vineyards and its Finnish partner, as they look for strategic opportunities to maximise distribution and sales within the respective market.

“The current performance of our brands, across the different cultivars and styles, is a result of our consistent relationships with all our producing partners combined with a pursuit of excellence that we apply to our winemaking processes,” says Stellenbosch Vineyards Sales and Marketing Executive Jeff Gradwell.
