There are a number of ways to make a rosé, amongst the best of these is to grow your grapes with the specific purpose of making a rosé. And Jacques Viljoen, the Wine Maker at Zevenwacht does just this with his all singing, all dancing Zevenwacht 7even Rosé 2015.

Zevenwacht has two vineyards, one, the home vineyard is on the Zevenwacht Estate and the other is on their farm Zevenrivieren at the crest of the Helshoogte Pass in Banghoek which is also part of the Stellenbosch Wine Appellation.

The grapes used for the wine are 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and come from higher lying cooler Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard on the Zevenrivieren Farm.

Made in the style of a white wine, the gentle pink comes from the grape skins during the gentle crushing. Cold fermentation takes place to retain as much of the freshness, fruitiness and red berry fruit aromas.

The Zevenwacht 7even range is made up of 5 wines, two red, two white and this rosé. Delicious modern, lifestyle wine, elegant, soft and fruit forward.
