Bouchard Finlayson’s first Tutored Wine Tasting of the year will take place in the barrel cellar at Bouchon Wine Bar & Bistro in Cape Town on Tuesday 19 April 2016 at 18:00.

The informative tasting is open to the public, with a maximum of 20 guests. The host for the evening, celebrated winemaker and South Africa’s ‘Pinot Pioneer’ Peter Finlayson, says everyone is welcome and that attendees don’t have to be wine connoisseurs. The event allows for a tailor-made experience to introduce the Hemel-en-Aarde producer’s award-winning wines, taking tasters on an entertaining and enlightening wine journey through new, as well as old vintages, accompanied by a selection of scrumptious tapas, courtesy of Bouchon Bistro.

Peter Finlayson will personally conduct the tasting, sharing his in-depth experience and enthusiasm for the grape. Wine lovers will be able to taste 12 wines during the course of the evening. The first flight will be three vintages from Bouchard Finlayson’s unique white blend – Blanc de Mer, to show the ageing potential of this unwooded white. The second flight will be from Bouchard Finlayson’s Chardonnay parcel in Kaaimansgat, followed by six vintages of Pinot Noir.

Guests may arrive from 17:45 for a punctual start at 18:00. The tasting will run until 19:30. Bookings are essential and can be made on info@bouchardfinlayson.co.za or Tel 028 312 3515. The cost is R250 per person, which includes the wine tasting and a selection of tapas.
