On the boil, two exciting events; The Grape to Glass, which sees wine stewards from 23 hotels arriving in Cape Town in May and having three eventful days; practical, interactive and inspiring. A one-on-one with top winemakers in South Africa, visiting stunning estates in the winelands, having informative and challenging classes with Cape Wine Academy (CWA) and South African Sommeliers Association (SASA), and learning about South Africa’s prize-winning spirits, which are appreciated worldwide.

The StreetSmart SA Wine&Dine Week (4th – 10th July) to be held across the country at all the participating hotels. Each hotel will present a different and creative event, raising funds, while showcasing their candidates’ menu for this absolutely vital organisation.  

Recently, at the launches around the country, the hotels drew both a wine estate and a spirit. An exercise that combines the skills of the chefs with the knowledge and appreciation of fine wines by the sommelier and wine stewards final resulting in their candidates’ entry of a three-course menu. In June at the Cook-Off we will see the fruits of this collaborative effort, with the final award night on July 29th.
