Bouchard Finlayson
Bouchard Finlayson will once again be participating in the annual Hermanus FynArts Festival where it will host and sponsor the ‘Tollman Bouchard Finlayson Art Award Tondo Competition’ for the third consecutive year. Tondo is a Renaissance term for a circular work of art, which in this instance will be displayed on the top, flat end of a wine barrel.

Earlier this year, artists were invited to submit their entries, under this year’s theme ‘Terroir’. As one of the highlights of FynArts, visitors will be able to view the works of the finalists in Bouchard Finlayson’s wine cellar, while also tasting some of Bouchard Finlayson’s iconic vintages.

The tondi are displayed on the heads of barrels, newly filled with wines pressed from grapes harvested in late February and March. These works will be exhibited for the duration of Hermanus FynArts, from 10 – 19 June, and will once again remain as an extended exhibition in the cellar until November 2016. Works sold are replaced by those of finalists during the preceding year. The winner and runner-ups will be announced at a function on Friday 10 June.

Bouchard Finlayson will also play host to an exclusive half-day Flash and Strobism Photography Workshop on Saturday 18 June from 10:00 – 13:00, available to book at R300 per person.
