Bouchard Finlayson
Bouchard Finlayson will be hosting a Tutored Wine Tasting at Palma Restaurant in Cape Town on Tuesday 28 June 2016, at 18:00.

The fun, informal tasting is open to everyone, from wine novices to oenologists, with a maximum of 20 guests. Hosted by esteemed winemaker and South Africa’s ‘Pinot Pioneer’ Peter Finlayson, the evening will focus on red wines and will see guests introduced to a range of new, as well as old vintages, presented with a selection of delectable canapés courtesy of Bree Street’s authentic Italian eatery, Palma.

Guests will be able to taste 12 wines during the course of the event, including Pinot Noir, the varietal Peter Finlayson is best known for. The first two flights will be verticals of Bouchard Finlayson’s unique Italian/French red blend Hannibal from 2001 - 2006, followed by 2 flights of 6 Pinot Noirs from the vineyard’s latest releases of its Flagship Galpin Peak Pinot Noir, Icon Wine Tête de Cuvée Galpin Peak Pinot Noir, and Cape Winemakers Guild Pinot Noirs.

While tasting these wines, Peter Finlayson will explain why Pinot Noir is considered to be the most terroir expressive of all the grape varieties, and why the Hemel-en-Aarde region, where Bouchard Finlayson is situated, has become acknowledged for the production of the finest quality Pinot Noir in South Africa – and abroad.

Address: Palma, 213 Bree Street, Cape Town

Guests may arrive from 17:45 for a punctual start at 18:00. The tasting will run until 19:30. Bookings are essential and can be made on info@bouchardfinlayson.co.za or Tel 028 312 3515. The cost is R250 per person, which includes the wine tasting and a selection of canapés.
