Ultra Liquors
In a tale as old as time, Beauty will turn on the charm and Beast will flex his muscles as the battle of the sexes commences at this years’ Ultra Mussels Wine Celebration to be held on Saturday, 30th July 2016 from 12pm until 4pm at Den Anker Restaurant, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.

Not only is this battle unique in that it pits guys and girls in wine against each other, but this is the first time in the history of the competition that only one wine region will be represented. Mark Norrish, General Manager of Ultra Liquors Wine Division, and noted wine expert, has personally selected participants from the Stellenbosch wine region for this years’ battle.

The girls in wine will be representing Blaauwklippen, DeMorgenzon, Fleur du Cap, Haskell Vineyards, House of J.C. Le Roux, Simonsig Wine Estate, Uitkyk Wine Estate and Warwick Wine Estate whilst the guys will be representing Beyerskloof Wines, Delaire Graff Estate, Ernie Els Wines, Glenelly, Kanonkop Wine Estate, Kleine Zalze and Rust en Vrede – all from the Stellenbosch wine region.

Says Mark: “Ultra Liquors is constantly re-inventing the wine business in South Africa, and we really enjoy the everyday challenges that test our current way of thinking. This Challenge is a particularly interesting one, as Stellenbosch is a wonderfully famous region, producing many world class wines made by guys and girls alike. What better way to enjoy some superb fruit of the vine and voting for your relevant choice. It is novel, entertaining and unique – the very same qualities that embody the Ultra wine division.”

The best of Belgian cuisine has been embraced in the form of Doekle and Rejeanne Vlietman who will be cooking up a whirlwind storm of 1kg of mussels for each of the 200 guests in their iconic twenty-one year old restaurant, whilst patrons sip on sexy sauvignon blanc’s, voluptuous chardonnays, sultry merlots, seductive shiraz’s and vivacious MCC’s.

Luke Krone Events will again be the muscles behind the scenes ensuring that a fun-filled experience is had by all.

Tickets cost R230 per person and are available through Webtickets.  Tickets include 1kg of fresh mussels, a souvenir wine glass, wine tastings and live entertainment. Only 200 tickets available. Booking essential. No under 18’s allowed.
