Webersburg
Stellenbosch boutique wine estate, Webersburg is celebrating 20 years of Cabernet Sauvignon this year and the cellar turns 220 years old, dating back to 1786 when the cellar was first established, and is still in working order today. Webersburg released their first Cabernet Sauvignon in 1996 and have been producing premium wine ever since.

Webersburg is a boutique winery and since its inception, the focus has been on a limited production of quality wines reflecting the unique Helderberg terroir. Careful attention to detail is paid to the vineyard, grape selection and winemaking methods which allows the wines to express specific grape flavour characteristics and provide a quality framework.

Cabernet Sauvignon marks the first wine produced under the Webersburg name, a milestone celebrated by the Weber family and winemaker and viticulturist, Matthew Van Heerden. With numerous international and local accolades behind his name, Matthew has taken the wine and winemaking process from strength to strength. He won Best Chardonnay in the world at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in London, was nominated as one of the top ten winemakers in the world and received the South African Diners Club Young Winemaker of the year title for 2011.

If you’d like to experience Webersburg wine first hand, wine tasting is available from 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Sunday. The Bistro is also open daily for breakfast from 08:00 – 10:30 and lunch from 12:00 – 15:00 and has breath-taking views from the terrace overlooking the dam and Helderberg Mountains.
