Allesverloren has partnered up with Boer and Butcher’s Edu Hanekom to produce a series of informative videos that will aid consumers in selecting and preparing various cuts of meat, paired with Allesverloren’s signature wines.

The series of videos explore the similarities between the provenance of excellent wine and the meat that pairs well with it. A new video will be released every fortnight, leading up to National Braai Day on 24 September 2016.

Edu Hanekom, who features in the videos, is a livestock farmer and the owner of Boer and Butcher in Durbanville. The meat selections that he will be discussing include cuts among other rack of lamb, shanks and venison. The wines that he will be paring with the cuts include the Allesverloren Cabernet Sauvignon, Tinta Barocca, Shiraz and Touriga Nacional.

“There are many similarities between deciding on a cut of meat for a meal, and choosing the right wine to serve,” says Allesverloren owner and cellar master Danie Malan. “With this campaign that we are running with Boer and Butcher, we are exploring a shared philosophy of choosing the best meat cuts and wine cultivars,” he added.

“At Boer and Butcher our philosophy is to deliver a quality product to our customers. We make sure that the meat is aged to perfection, very much like wine, to ensure the right flavour and tenderness,” says Edu. “We are happy to share this passion with others,” he added.

The series of videos will be shared on the Allesverloren website and social media platforms every two weeks, starting on the first week of August 2016. Visit www.allesverloren.co.za or join the conversation at www.facebook.com/allesverlorenwines
