This was a huge achievement for The Dry Land Collection in the Standard Bank/Chenin Blanc Top Ten Challenge 2016 as this premier range was only launched in the last quarter of 2013.
In 2015, the second year of the awards, Perdeberg came in amongst the top ten with The Dry Land Collection Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc 2014 against 145 entries.
And now in 2016, for the third consecutive year, Perdeberg ranked as the top ten with The Dry Land Collection Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc 2015 amongst 124 entries.
Perdeberg is the only cellar that achieved this for 3 years with the same brand.
Perdeberg’s Cellar Master, Albertus Louw, said: “To have The Dry Land Collection Chenin Blanc ranked in the Top 10 Chenin Blancs for the last three years, amongst such strong competitors, is a very proud moment for us.”
As a Top 10 winner in previous years, Perdeberg Winery received cash prizes, which they used towards an ARA project for upgrading and equipping the Crèches on their producer farms. This year the prize money will again be utilized to uplift the community.
