TOKARA Wines is pleased to announce the appointment of Karl Lambour as General Manager, taking over from Gerrie Wagener who passed away earlier this year.

Lambour has been the General Manager of Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek for the past four years, and has previously held the position of winemaker at Constantia Glen. He has also gained valuable international experience working at Château Bellefont-Belcier and Château Trianon in Saint-Ĕmilion, France.

A graduate of the University of Stellenbosch, Karl holds both B.Sc. Forestry Science and B.Sc. Agriculture (Oenology & Viticulture) degrees and has spent 16 years in the wine industry, initially at Die Bergkelder in Stellenbosch.

“I believe Karl will fit in well with the entire TOKARA team and I trust that he will play a vital role in achieving our goal of being recognised, both locally and internationally, as one of South Africa’s foremost wine estates,” commented G.T. Ferreira, proprietor of TOKARA.

“We welcome Karl to TOKARA as part of our team,” added Miles Mossop, TOKARA winemaker and senior member of the estate’s management team. “He will be a huge asset to an already strong and established team and will lead us into the next phase of our growth.”

Karl commenced his role on 1 July 2016.
