Lovers of beautiful music are in for a treat at the next Nederburg chamber concert on Sunday 25 September at 17h00.

The captivating programme is dedicated to music for flute and harp and will be performed by leading South African harpist, Kobie du Plessis, and flautist, Louisa Theart. The audience can expect to hear works by Bernard Andres, Joseph Naderman and Josef Molnar, as well as popular melodies arranged for harp and flute solo.

The programme also includes the sounds of Impressionist composer Claude Debussy’s exquisite and seldom heard, Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp. For this performance, the duo will be joined by well-known viola player, Karen Gaertner.

The concert marks a welcome return to the stage for Kobie du Plessis who came back to South Africa recently after living abroad for more than ten years. During this time, she was based in the Netherlands and Spain and collaborated with leading musicians and orchestras as soloist and ensemble player.

Louisa Theart graduated from the Royal College of Music in London in 2012 and Karen Gaertner is regarded as one of South Africa’s foremost viola players. Both musicians are in high demand as soloists, chamber and orchestral musicians.

The concert at Nederburg in Paarl is presented in the music room of the beautiful Nederburg manor house. It starts at 17h00 and tickets include sherry on arrival, sparkling Nederburg Brut poured during interval, plus acclaimed Nederburg wines served with a delicious finger after the concert.

Tickets at R250 per person can be booked by sending an email to concerts@distell.co.za or by calling +27.218775123 during office hours.
