wine.co.za taking a stand to showcase the good in the South African Winelands

In response to the documentary by Tom Heinemann shown in Denmark and Sweden recently, wine.co.za has launched a project to tell the good news stories of upliftment and transformation which abound in the South African Wine industry.

We are not putting our heads in the sand, and Western Cape economic opportunities MEC Alan Winde is investigating the documentary's allegations. We do not support any malpractice in the winelands and if there are any farms and producers not being compliant with the law or treating their workers badly, we would like them to be revealed so that those workers can have a better life.

I have worked in the South African Wine industry now for 20 years and it's a tough industry.
Taking South African wines off the shelves just takes away the money to pay the workers, so we really want to ensure that this does not happen. If any farms are guilty of bad labour practices, they must be dealt with, and the entire South African Wine industry is behind this.  But don't let the rest of the industry and their workers suffer as a result.

Many producers and organisations in the industry are doing a LOT of good and we want to make sure that these stories are told and shared, in order to create a balance of views.

There is a wealth of good news to tell.

We at wine.co.za have created a platform to make it easy for you to join this initiative and share these stories.
