Bouchard Finlayson
Renowned for its Pinot noir's and Chardonnays, Bouchard Finlayson, will conclude its series of Tutored Wine Tastings for the year with an exclusive ‘blind tasting’ event to be held in the barrel cellar of Bouchon Wine Bar & Bistro in Cape Town, on Tuesday 22 November, from 17:45 for 18:00 to 19:30.

The cost is R250 per person, which includes the tasting of four flights of wines matched with a selection of tapas. Bookings are essential and can be made on info@bouchardfinlayson.co.za or Tel +27.28 312 3515.

The informative, ‘mystery’ tasting is open to the public and can accommodate a total of 18 guests only. Hosted by Bouchard Finlayson winemaker Chris Albrecht, who has been working alongside cellarmaster Peter Finlayson for the past five years, tasters will enjoy an entertaining wine journey through new, as well as some old vintages, accompanied by a selection of tapas.

The tasting will commence with the first flight of three 2016 white wines which have not yet been released. Tasting three vintage Sauvignon blancs, the second flight will be themed ‘So Sauvignon blanc doesn’t age well?’, before moving on to the third flight to compare a Pinot noir from the Marlborough region in New Zealand vs a Bouchard Finlayson Pinot noir from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. To conclude the tasting, Chris Albrecht will present ‘Hannibal Deconstructed’, the fourth flight of three wines as a componental view of Bouchard Finlayson’s unique Mediterranean red blend.

About Bouchard Finlayson

Established in 1989 in the temperate Hemel-en-Aarde Valley on 125 hectares (312 acres) of Walker Bay's prime viticulture land, Bouchard Finlayson Vineyard and Winery is a small cellar dedicated to the quality production of Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc. Ever since releasing their first vintages, the name Bouchard Finlayson has been internationally synonymous with excellence. Other cultivars under production include Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc and Sangiovese, as well as a handful under exploration. Bouchard Finlayson is an accredited Championship member of the Biodiversity and Wine initiative (BWI).
