Lourensford Lot at Cape Wine Auction raises R600 000 for education in the winelands

The Lourensford Estate lot, featuring an all-inclusive two-nights stay for three couples at Christo Wiese’s private Kalahari game lodge, was extremely popular among bidders and raised R600 000 at the Cape Wine Auction in Franschhoek on the weekend of 10-11 February 2017.

The Lourensford prize included all meals, accommodation and game drives as well as flights and transfers to the Game Lodge, were the trio of couples will be hosted by the owner Christo Wiese.

The winning bidder will also be presented with a selection of 24 bottles of Lourensford Estate wines, along with a chocolate and wine pairing experience at the estate, presented by Cellar Master Hannes Nel.

“Lourensford is proud to be associated to the annual Cape Wine Auction, which does such wonderful work supporting NGOs focused on the education of children and adults in the Winelands,” said Koos Jordaan, GM of Lourensford Wines. “We are also delighted that our lot proved so popular with bidders. They are in for an unforgettable experience.”

Owned by businessman Christo Wiese, the Lourensford Estate is arguably one of the most spectacular in South Africa. The historical estate, which was established in 1700, boasts a variety of vineyards producing award-winning wines.
