Vriesenhof Vineyards
The philosophy of Vriesenhof Vineyards is to find and respect the harmony between soil, season and man’s skill. Jan Boland Coetzee, who purchased Vriesenhof 37 years ago, reminds us that serendipity also plays a huge role in the wine-making process.

With the experience and skill of its team, and the appointment of a dedicated marketing and sales manager, Vriesenhof is well-equipped to explore the many new opportunities within the local and international wine markets, whilst staying true to its unique ethos.

Cellar and viticulture operations remain the territory of Jan Boland Coetzee, who is also chairman of the board of directors of Vriesenhof.

The wine making portfolio belongs to Nicky Claasens, who joined Vriesenhof in 2007, and the 2017 vintage is thus his 10th vintage at Vriesenhof.

Eddie Smit, who has been responsible for marketing, sales and finance at Vriesenhof for the past 13 years, has been appointed by the board of directors as CEO. His role will include taking responsibility for international sales. Smit says that Vriesenhof is renowned for its focus on classic wines that pay homage to their terroir, and believes that the team has what it takes to drive the success of Vriesenhof’s products in South Africa and abroad.

Michelle La Cock is the Financial Manager and has been part of the team at Vriesenhof for the past 10 years. She plays a vital role in the success of the business.

Adinda Booysen joined the business at the beginning of the year as national sales and marketing manager. Adinda brings with her a wealth of marketing experience, which is crucial in a very competitive industry.  Using her innovative approach to marketing and sales, her role is to help the Vriesenhof brand expand its reputation as a premier wine producer and to transform the farm, situated in one of Stellenbosch’s most breathtakingly beautiful settings, into a unique destination for local and international wine lovers.

Ursula Engelbrecht, who is in charge of the tasting room, has worked at Vriesenhof for 13 years. She has practical experience in all aspects of the wine-making process from vineyard to cellar. Her love for and knowledge of the wines and her eagerness for others to experience and appreciate the wines, showcases the passion of the Vriesenhof team for its wines and their heritage.

This dynamic and committed team are excited about the future of Vriesenhof and invite you to embark with them on their journey.
