Org de Rac
Org de Rac launches its Chardonnay Reserve 2016 − just in time for spring in Sweden! On 1 March, as the people of Sweden looked forward to the approaching spring and an end to the long, dark winters nights, Org de Rac proudly launched its Chardonnay Reserve 2016 for the Swedish market. Watch winemaker Frank Meaker talking about this lovely, fruity new wine.

“These beautiful drops”

Org de Rac’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Bethchen Zaayman, was delighted to find this happy letter in her inbox recently:

“Hi! I just got home and opened a bottle of Org de Rac after a long day at work! Usually I don’t do that! Anyway it just struck me that this wine is really good and I would like to express that to you who create these beautiful drops!

I'm living in Sweden and we don't have the climate to produce wine! I just wanted to thank you! On a cold and dark day of winter, you light up this day with your wine.”

The letter came from Org de Rac wine lover, Jeanette Zombory, who wrote to us from Stockholm. It prompted a friendly email exchange and reminded us that our unique range of organic wines is enjoyed by a growing number of wine lovers in an increasing number of countries around the world.

As Jeanette so profoundly wrote in a later email, it’s as if Org de Rac exports the “soil and sun” so that wine lovers in Scandinavia and other parts of the Northern Hemisphere can enjoy the warmth and flavours of South Africa.

Preparing for ProWein

Jeanette’s email correspondence was well timed because it coincided with Org de Rac’s preparations for ProWein, the most important international wine show. ProWein takes place on 19 to 21 March in Dusseldorf, Germany, providing Org de Rac with a wonderful opportunity to renew friendships with existing customers and introduce our wines to other discerning wine buyers in Europe.

Bethchen Zaayman will be representing Org de Rac at ProWein.

“There is a lot of interest in organic wines, especially in Europe and Scandinavia. ProWein provides us with a professional platform to showcase the unique Org de Rac range,” says Bethchen.

Visit Org de Rac at ProWein: Hall 9 : Stand #A48 from 19 – 21 March.

Hendrie’s Choice
Hendrie Bredenkamp - Org de Rac Estate Manager

Org de Rac Estate Manager, Hendrie Bredenkamp, has spent most of his life working on farms in the Piketberg area. Prior to joining Org de Rac in 2012, he worked for 10 years on the neighbouring table grape farm, Môrester.

In spite of the healthy, outdoor lifestyle, in 1997, Hendrie experienced some problems with his heart. “The doctor told me to drink a glass of red wine every day and I’ve been complying with his instructions ever since,” says Hendrie seriously.

Hendrie’s red wine of choice is the elegantly balanced Org De Rac Reserve Merlot.

“It’s a very good wine and because it’s organic, if you make a mistake and drink more than one glass there are no after effects the next morning.”

Hendrie recommends pairing the Org de Rac Reserve Merlot with rack of lamb, rare sirloin steak and chocolate deserts.
