The competition is a way of providing life skills training in an enjoyable and impactful way for the participants. With the help of well-known South African artists Agri’s got Talent boosts the self-confidence of many workers who struggle to let their voices be heard due to unforeseen circumstances.
Any person older than the age of 18 years, who has been working in the agricultural industry, whether wine or fruit for more than three months within the last 12 months is encouraged to enter.
Some previous winners have become ambassadors for their communities and within their working environments. The competition empowered and inspired them to follow their dreams which appeared unreachable in the past.
Most of these previous winners and finalists has had a passion for singing for a long time but never had the opportunity to showcase what they can do. Agri’s got Talent has become the perfect platform for them to express their talent while improving their life skills.
The most recent winner Neville Fortuin (Agri’s got Talent 2016) says “I study music on the internet or by watching TV, everywhere I go. And if I can talk about it all day long, I’d be very happy”. Like Neville there are many people who have a passion for music and singing.
Another 2016 Top 10 finalist Joshephine Karelse says “I knew I had to do it, I had to enter. And when I made it through to the Top 10 I was shocked, but I told myself, “yes Josephine, you procrastinated too much and gave up too many opportunities, this is your time”.
The Gala evening where the finalists and winner will be announced, takes place on the 4th of August 2017. This is the pinnacle of the competition and gives the top 10 finalists a chance to look and feel like the superstars that they already are, as well as giving audiences the chance to experience their amazing talents first hand.
On the night, the finalist gets the opportunity to perform their songs for the judges whereafter the winner is announced and great prizes are awarded!
The Gala event promises to be one for the books and is not to be missed.
