Kleine Draken
This year our harvest kicked off on the 23rd of January 2017, a few days later compared to last year.

According to Jean van Rooyen, the Winemaker at Zandwijk, the quality of this year’s grapes are looking very promising. The small berries are advantageous for the purpose of winemaking, due to the high ratio of skins being transferred to juice. The quantity of grapes from our 2017 harvest increased by 25% because of new vineyard blocks that are now in production.

Despite the dry summer conditions we are experiencing in the Western Cape, Zandwijk’s vineyards are being well looked after and we use our own water-supply from the farm for irrigation. Here you see Jean van Rooyen (Winemaker of Zandwijk) and David Dadon (Mashgiach from the Cape Town Beth Din). We are very pleased with their hard work.
