The UK Sommelier Wine Awards is the only competition aimed solely at the on-trade and is judged by a top panel of leading sommeliers and on-trade wine buyers.
The competition aims to significantly reward the best wines available to restaurants, bars and hotels in the UK and beyond. Maggie Macpherson of Enotria & Coe which imports Morgenster wines into the UK, says that following last year’s UK Sommelier Wine Awards 2016 where Morgenster Reserve 2003 won gold and the coveted overall Wine of the Year award, they saw a huge rise in sales of Morgenster wines. “Morgenster Reserve 2008 is a first entry into the UK market, and its gold medal bodes well for the vintage and the Estate in the UK”, she says.
