At the 43rd Nederburg Auction, Friday 15th September was dedicated to an informal tasting of all the wines, with the exception of the rarest. The FMC 2009 was included in the line-up of formal tutored tastings presented by Roland Peens and Michael Fridjhon.

Ken Forrester Wines had two lots at this year’s auction, both Chenin Blanc. The FMC Single Barrel 2014 was sold for R7 200 (6 x 750mL).

The FMC 2009 was the highest selling white wine, achieving R11 000 (6 x 750mL).

Ken Forrester Vineyards, the “home of Chenin Blanc” as it is commonly referred to, is situated at the foothills of the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch.

Ken’s passion for Chenin Blanc is clear, with eight Chenin Blanc wines in his portfolio, made in various styles and available at various price points, he boasts the broadest selection of award-winning Chenin Blancs from any South African producer.

Ken’s philosophy? To create a range of wines that suitably complement a wide variety of food styles and provides excellent value over a broad price spectrum.
