Darling Cellars
Chenin, Cinsaut, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet strike it rich... Darling Cellars are proud to announce that we scored a tally of no less than 11 medals at the 2017 Veritas Awards, including a prestigious Double Gold for our flagship Limited Edition Lady Ann Darling Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon 2016.

Our renowned Chenin Blancs shone brightly, attracting Gold for both our Reserve Arum Fields Chenin Blanc 2017 and for our old Bush Vines Chenin Blanc 2016. The judges also awarded our Old Bush Vines Cinsaut 2015 Gold, completing a scintillating trio.

Five silver and two bronze medals make up the remainder of our glittering haul, details of these below.

The Veritas Awards is the longest-running and largest wine competition in South Africa, and are widely recognised as one of the most credible by consumers. Some 1 638 wines were entered into the contest this year, being judged by a qualified jury that included six international judges.

The public can sample all the Veritas Double Gold and Gold winners at a series of tastings held countrywide during October and November. Book through Computicket, and hope to meet you there!

The five Darling Cellars’ Silver winners are:

Lime Kilns wooded Chenin, Chardonnay, Viognier blend 2016

Reserve Bushvine Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sir Charles Henry Darling Cabernet/Merlot 2015

Darling Cellars Premium Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Reserve Black Granite Shiraz 2016.

The Bronze medal winners are Darling Cellars Chocoholic Pinotage 2016 and Darling Cellars Reserve Terra Hutton Cabernet Sauvignon 2015.
