Plaisir de Merle
In a spectacular display of craftsmanship Plaisir de Merle has received no less than two 4 and a ½-stars and five 4-stars rating by the Platter's by Diners Club South African Wine Guide 2018.

The Grand Plaisir 2011 and the Petit Verdot 2015 each where awarded 4 and a ½-stars with the Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Malbec 2015, Merlot 2015, Shiraz, and Chardonnay 2016 received 4-stars. It’s the 5th consecutive year that the Chardonnay has received 4-star status.

Winemaker Niel Bester says the definitive wine buying guide is one that both wine-lovers and winemakers equally look forward to receiving each year.

“It’s the most comprehensive guide on the South African wine industry and it gives an incredible overview of wineries, wine styles, trends as well as acts as a benchmark for us. By achieving the top ratings across our portfolio is very rewarding for me as we strive to make wines that not only age incredibly well but that has structure and depth regardless of the year it’s enjoyed in.”

Platter’s by Diners Club is South Africa’s leading wine guide and since the early 1980’s a team of wine experts reviews more than 950 South African wine producers, merchants and brands. The guide, available as a digital app too, includes details of activities and tastings offered by wine farms and highlights wines worth trying.
