Wine tourism is big news and could potentially make a major contribution to the South African tourism industry, the country's economy and consequently improve the lives of farm and rural communities across the Western Cape.

The Cape's winelands are internationally hailed as being the fairest in the world and concerted efforts at consolidating our wine tourism offering and communicating our resources in this regard have been made recently.

Wine.co.za is spearheading the wine industry's online marketing drive of its tourism portfolio in a brand new service offering both local and international visitors to the Cape's world-renowned winelands a unique, user-friendly, and effortless way of locating wine tourism destinations and planning their itineraries accordingly.

Winetours.co.za, as the newly launched site is called, is an online environment within the hugely successful Wine.co.za parent site and offers an easy-to-use electronic search facility enabling tourists to locate their preferred destinations within the winelands according to the products and services on offer at individual estates and wineries.

Listed products and services currently include wine tastings (115 listings), cellar tours (23), restaurants (36), picnics (18), accommodation (19), functions including weddings (12), groups, children and the disabled. The site is updated on a daily basis and continuously expanded so as to enhance the portfolio on offer.

Winetours.co.za also offers a set of printable maps and packaged tours as well as easy access to the website of each and every South African wine routes.
