| Parker praises ?fabulous South African wine? |
| 23 March 2006 by Klein Constantia Estate |

| Robert Parker, the world?s most influential wine critic, has described the SA-French joint-venture wine Anwilka, which was released into the Bordeaux wine trade last week, as ?the finest red wine I have ever had from South Africa ...? on his erobertparker.com website. |
|
Anwilka?s partners include Bruno Prats, former owner of Château Cos-d?Estournel, Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, co-proprietor of Château Angélus, and Lowell Jooste, co-owner of Klein Constantia.
Anwilka is 7km from the ocean in the prime Helderberg region of Stellenbosch. Fastidiously tended by vineyard manager Piet Neethling, Anwilka?s best vineyard blocks were selected for this wine. Under the direction of the French partners, talented young SA oenologist Trizanne Pansegrouw made just 3,500 cases of the maiden 2005 blend of cabernet sauvignon (63%) and shiraz.
Parker tasted the wine in Bordeaux, where he is currently rating their promising 2005 vintage.
