Our History

The property was originally granted to French Huguenot Pierre Jourdan in 1694, who named it Cabrière after his home town in France. 300 years later, Achim von Arnim bought the property with the vision of producing wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The farm launched the Pierre Jourdan range in the early 80’s, and soon after, the range of still wine  – named after the second area of land bought, nestled in the Franschhoek mountains with the valley below, ‘Haute’ meaning ‘high’ in French.

The von Arnim family and Haute Cabrière are synonymous with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in South Africa, as well as the elegant Pierre Jourdan range made up mostly of MCC.
